OUR PRACTICE
Generation:net is a multi-disciplinary premium IT services provider, with a core focus on enterprise capabilities and solutions requiring on-premise, cloud or hybrid infrastrucrure and automation.
Rooted in the founding team's extensive experience in the Red Hat's services team and elsewhere designing and delivering hundreds of enterprise solutions, we offer a robust and accountable architecture and design practice coupled to a partnered goal-driven delivery approach, helping our customers achieve their goals, made possible by a welcomed generation of technology solutions.
Infrastructure Expertise
Our infrastructure solution expertise covers the entire lifecycle of a generation of a solution, starting from understanding its business and operational requirements, the formation of its key decisions, through to deployment, team enabelement and Day 2 operations.
We have the resources you need to make it fit, get it right, do it well, and leave you comfortably able to own and operate it.

Process Automation

The role of the humans on the team is changing.
The processes you own - to Provision a new system, to Patch a fleet, to Deploy an application - are getting more complex, the business may ask to run them more times each year, while increasing the number of humans doing it is often difficult.

Our practice can help you map your process to the stakeholders who take part in it, the steps they are responsible, and estimate the cost in time - to you and to your customer - of every step. Using our metrics based process mapping approach, we can help you identify where investment in automation will alleviate rote work, attach a business case, and assist in any required delivery and enablement.

On the way, we help our customers see their processes as more generational, versioned living designs that improve over time, while helping your teams elevate their value - from a hand that cranked the handle in the past, to an Infrastructure as Code dev team, where it is the code that cranks the handle on the process.
Accountable Design
One cannot agree alone. Design is not merely the arrival at an end state. It must capture fitness of such any end state to the interests of various stakeholders.
Accountably documenting a design means ensuring all stakeholders their needs are addressed, while setting clear boundaries around their agreement. This practice requires both communication, documentation expertise, requirements drafting, as well as understanding enterprise process that accepts High Level Designs, and where apploicable, Detail Level Designs, as an input.

High Level Designs (HLD) for a solution capturing its requirements and listing key decisions, with a goal to make the design relevant not only to its approvers, but to people who will reference it for the next iteration of a design in the future. Our methodology keeps the design accountable, by
-
Clearly linking every decision to motivating requirements
-
Identifying all options considered
-
Sharing the rationale of past decisions with future designers, to help assess decision relevance in the future with minimal effort.

Detail Level Designs (DLD) for capturing detail ahead of solution deployment where required.

CyberSecurity

Securing enterprise platforms is not an option. Platforms hosting workloads require clear articulation of which threats they may be vulnerable to, and deliberate placement of control planes in the way of those threats.

There is no one size fits all control plane map, and threats evolve as we seek to collaborate outside our organisation and tap an ever growing pool of external helpful resources. Introducing a method to review the security aspects of our solutions is essential.
Our experts can assist in introducing such thinking, assess the need for appropriate tooling, or help establish necessary process around the tools.
